Grand reopening
last modified: Tuesday, July 14, 2009 (7:27:01 PM CST)
Well, I did a little bit of work taking out the cels that have moved on and adding a little bit in. The hobby may have been put on hold for a while, but I still love these little bits of history!

To those who thought I was dead...
last modified: Tuesday, January 17, 2006 (10:30:52 PM CST)
Rumors of my demise have been greatly exaggerated and neither have I left the collecting scene. Never really dedicated to my updates, I have simply been too distracted to keep up with my cel collecting duties. That and I've re-devote myself to claiming control of my finances. With my nose to the proverbial grindstone I want to very publicly thank the people who have thwacked me in the head about Angel's Egg and Miyu auctions. I'm forever in debt to great folks who help keep me addicted! This update is dedicated to you all.

Well I'm watching Spellbound......
last modified: Tuesday, October 25, 2005 (1:22:26 AM CST)
And I will defend this till the day I die. Gregory Peck was the best looking/sexiest man EVER. I had the opportunity to see him in person about 5 years ago and was slightly disappointed. Err um can you say Marlin Brando weight issue. But I also realize he was around 84 then. I know this is completely not cel/anime related ect. But still a topic I cannot resist.... mmmmmmm Peck.

Have you ever noticed that things taste better on Hello Kitty toast?
last modified: Saturday, October 08, 2005 (4:13:05 AM CST)
I think that is going to be my new mantra in life. I very good friend of mine gave me a sanio toaster that burns the effigy of that kawaii little kitty on each and every slice of bread toasted. My after work snack (PB&J on wheat toast) was extra yummy tonight. Perhaps it was because the skies have opened up and after almost 3 months of little to no rain the Washington area is suffering a deluge of precipitation. Unfortunately I needed to have shipped some cels out today, I hope the buyer understands my not wanting to haul art work thru the pouring rain. If it doesn't let up by morning I'll just risk it. Saran wrap work wonders sometimes. Anyway this is also notice that my computer is back up and running and I am once again a viable member of society! All hale the great god of internet communication!

grrrrrrrrrrrr
last modified: Friday, August 12, 2005 (3:10:41 PM CST)
Next time I open my mouth and volunteer to do anything I'm going to remember the clusterfuck the cel panel at otakon is turning into and just whine and complain like everyone else that there is no cel collector event.

....but I love to cosplay!
last modified: Monday, July 25, 2005 (5:33:30 PM CST)
OK all I want to know is who's STUPID idea was it to sew seed beads around the appliqué work on my Yuko cosplay dress. It looks wonderful but my goodness my average is about one inch every 5 min. There are yards of boarder work!! I only have 25 days!!!! OK I feel better..... back to beading, Perhaps the front designs need not be adorned? Of course this was a project designed to eat up lots of free time while the summer rages on......... grrr I still need to work on tying a wig.... If this works out, I think this outfit will surpass even the Ryoko outfit!

Whoo hoo I'm 3 dozen years old!
last modified: Tuesday, June 07, 2005 (1:37:53 PM CST)
I suppose it sounds a bit better than 36 ^_~
But the good news is that I've finally been able to update everything new, with the exception of a couple of goodies sitting with the deputy, including my first Reizu cel. After seeing Tex-chan's incredible Reizu I finally decided to acquire one for myself. It is a super detailed one from Crono Crusade, I hope it is as cool as I think. It was hard to tell because the auction picture was taken with a camera and not a scanner so the detail was hard to make out. Bubble babble babble. Where was I Oh yeah.....
It was my birthday yesterday, I have had two swanky lunches so far, a day at the uber cool Korean spa with Sakiko tomorrow, and the promise of a Sushi boat the size of my head from another friend next week. He shares the same birthday as I do (and no I never found the Hello Kitty crash helmet, he got the steering wheel cover with matching seat-belt cozies instead).

I'm so excited I think I hurt myself!
last modified: Sunday, January 16, 2005 (10:29:40 PM CST)
So this has been the single most rewarding day I have had as a cel collector! First Mark has finally released his death grip on my most coveted Miyu! It has been three years of begging! I even baked him a birthday cake featuring that very cel. I almost couldn’t believe she was actually coming to live with me. THANK YOU MARK!!!!! Second, we had a great SGU meeting good friends, good food and good anime. Plus, I was able to pick up my Hobby Shop package with 5!!! new Angels Egg cels and a passel of Miyu side characters. (the culmination of 4 months of YJ finds) Now here is the Big news! My lap top chimed a new email during episode 4 of Peace Maker. On a whim I made an offer on a cel that I never in a million years did I think would ever leave Japan..............Am I going to spill the beans? Nope look for an update tuesday of the Miyu and Tenshis but I’m going to keep everyone in suspense! Of course you could ask an SGU member what I got, they watched me do three laps of the cel victory dance at the news (sorry about the ending of the show) I was so sure I would never be able to acquire this cel I never even put it on my whishlist. I’m stunned!

Need to go sleepy now......
last modified: Tuesday, January 11, 2005 (10:00:29 PM CST)
Well with the inauguration next week this is probably the last day of no obligations I can enjoy for at least three weeks! I’m off on Sunday too, but I have a very important SGU function. I love our little cel collectors club! And I’m sure my friends are used to me showing up so exhausted I doze during some of the anime. But hey I’m always looking forward to the food! I’ll even have some new cels to show off, but only if Mark made it to the post office to get them for me that is.
I spent the entire day loafing on the couch and not only managed not to buy anything, I actually found new homes for SEVEN of my babies. This was a major step in my cel collecting rehab program! No, I have no intention of leaving the hobby! I’m just trying to focus a little bit more .......... I just wish there wasn’t this incredible X cel on YJ right now. Gold eyes are so tempting......................

Tryptophan poisoning!!!!!!
last modified: Monday, January 03, 2005 (4:31:56 PM CST)
I think I've eaten my own weight in fried turkey, sweet potatoes and apple pie! Yes the Van Tassels postponed Christmas till this weekend and what a perfect weekend it has been! It's 70 deg outside (last week they had nearly a foot of snow)! I've spent the day running the dogs up and down the beach, going for a boat ride and of course eating leftovers! I even got my car washed and waxed. ooooh did I mention my new pink i pod named Sumomo?

Apparently I really suck at gift wrapping
last modified: Wednesday, December 22, 2004 (9:37:10 PM CST)
So, due to my new working conditions, this is the first holiday season (in about 10 years) I have been able to spend with friends and family. I forgot how nice it is to be with people during this time. I had a blast today finding gifts for just about everyone and wrapping them in festive bits of colored paper and ribbon. For those who baubles were not quite the thing, I sent them guest memberships to Best Friends, a nationwide animal rescue organization (yes a shameless plug) I feel all warm and fuzzy. I hope everyone out there is at a point in there lives where they can look around and see that they are important. I’ll stop now before I have to give myself an insulin shot, but really.........happy holidays! Whatever holiday you are celebrating!

Ack...?!?
last modified: Friday, December 10, 2004 (1:54:39 AM CST)
The yen to dollar rate is what? The good news is that I have two incredible wishlist Angel's Egg (Yes the elusive water bottles) sitting with the deputy. Bad news is I spent my budget on the car. Hmm anyone interested in Sailor Moon, Cardcaptors or Rayearth? Thought not. I guess the boyfriend doesn't get a gift this year ^_~ Na just kidding! All is as it should be in my world! warm fuzzies for all my freinds.

Geeze
last modified: Wednesday, December 01, 2004 (12:18:42 PM CST)
Well I'm supposed to be taking care of my car today. It flunked emissions you know. But......it is cold out and there is a kind of slushy rain going on. I'm such a slacker. Now here is my dilemma. I cannot afford to be looking at cels when I've only worked 3 days this week, it's the holiday gift giving season, and I have no clue what is wrong with my car. BUT BUT BUT it is raining and I can't possibly go outside and I've already used up the I'm stuck at home things to do. I've cleaned, done laundry and finally hung my halloween lights (they are cute little purple lights with wire bats, I'm using them for the holidays this year) So??? should I go for the great Van cel or a super rare Gally cel? Both are foremost on my current "oooh pretty" list but should I be that irresponsible?

stretch, yawn, scratch....what a great day off!
last modified: Tuesday, November 16, 2004 (6:25:38 PM CST)
I have a weird schedule so Tuesdays are generally my day off, so I spent today reclaiming my life! It felt so good! Normally I spend my days off catching up with friends, doing chores, or just running around. Today I stayed in and attempted to organize my space.
I unpacked three more boxes, tossed out two more bags of things I really don’t need and decided to update my look. I’ve got about 15 min before I have to wash the dye out of my hair. For those who have met me thru cons or SGU may be surprised to learn that I have dyed my hair Strawberry blond! Yes after nearly 3 years of beautiful deep blue hair, I’m trying something new! (17 years ago I had waist length blond hair, maybe I’m trying to relive my misspent youth ^_~)
I wish I had an update, but never being home anymore leaves little time for the relentless pursuit of acetate. Plus the last cel I went for ended at 70000 yen, well past my limits. I think my collecting tastes have gotten ahead of my budget. ........but I will never stop trying!

Anything Salty! Pepperoni and pinapple is good but black olive with feta cheese and hot peppers is my favorite!
